Johnny givens has sold over 12,000 records independently. No label. No distribution and No financial backing. He was working the 9-5 like all of us other dreamers until he walked out one day. Johnny was sick of working his machinists job because all day he had to listen to commercial hip hop. Johnny was quoted saying" I had to go home at that instant and do my thing. That commercial shit is garbage. I recorded the streets are talkin within 2 weeks of me quitting. I had all these high school kids who were always bugging me to record them so i rounded them up and had them sell my cd's. We had like 20 kids working for us grindin. We moved like 1,500 a month and i recorded their shit for free said johnny. Johnny took some of the money and started rockstar limousines in which he works only for famous people. He also has a mint 1965 mustang, a new r-1 and a 1999 gold plymouth prowler all bought from touring and mixtapes.
