Band/artist history
Originally formed in 2001, Anderson Counsel borrowed its name from the tandem blues combination 'Pink Anderson' and 'Floyd Council', which as everyone knows was originally borrowed by the super group 'Pink Floyd'... but that is where the similarities end. These four blokes are from the United States, and the band's use of synthesizers and special effects are about as far away as UK itself. The band has been around with different members and styles except for one dude - John Austen - who's written most of the tunes they play and has been searching for the right group of dirt bags to execute the "up your ass rock'n'roll" they kick out. Well, he found them at a place called Mr. Moe's where they all worked at the same time for a while. "One of the many mornings that I hitched a ride with Ernie Lopez" says guitar player Xavier Hevia "our future bass player popped in Austen's CD for the first time. 'Hold Tight' was the name of the song we heard, which later would get us recognized by Little Steven's Underground Garage". In fact Austen already had a band and a CD and was more of an established musician than the rest of them. Anyway, next thing they knew John Austen's band had gone to shit once again and he needed new recruits. Naturally, he was a little down on his luck about it so after a few Jagers he started talking. And that's when they realized that they were all musically inclined. Ernie and John called Xavier over and asked if he knew any lead guitar. "Shiiiiiieeeettttt, that's all I do besides getting trashed" was the answer. "Perfect" they said "all we need now is a drummer". With John Sansac at first, and now with Josey Hernandez, Anderson Counsel found the perfect headquarter at Austen's house, where he's got everything you need to set it off, and since then its all been like f*ckin clockwork. From the very beginning everyone fed off of everyone else and all knew exactly what they wanted from one another. Austen taught them the general drift of some of his tunes and each added his own individual touch. They've also written a few new tunes all together for a total of 22 original songs. Within a year's time, they had recorded a demo while regular gigs in South Beach and Miami Anderson Counsel have gathered a great fanbase of all types of party hearty folks who know how to get down. Talk about life in the fast lane!
