Band/artist history
Joe Who? Joe What? JOE MAMA!
A shorter version of a long story. Founded in 1998, Joe Mama represents four
of Southern Ontario's favourite jam night hosts rolled into one of the most
impressive and versatile Independent bands that this area has seen. Singer Tim McIntosh,
guitarists Dean Woods, Neil Virgoe, and drummer Geoff Canlett planned from the start, to form to a dynamic alternative-classic-rock cover band and offer an exciting and
entertaining show that people were sure to remember. And they did and it was
great. But as time progressed, the individual personalities of each member
started to blend into one unique sound they could call their own. The Money Tree seed was planted.
Their debut CD, Money Tree, has been rapidly growing in popularity.
With songs like Ha Ha, Nightmare and No Better, it is no wonder this band
has been getting lot's of attention. The increased popularity on www.MP3.com,
www.garageband.com (10/06/2002 awarded track of the day) and their own
interactive website has been showing increased interest in the band on a daily basis.
So what about the live act? Well Joe Mama cooks up an exciting and entertaining
show, not only focusing on their own kick ass originals, but also classics from
The Rolling Stones to the Cranberries from Steppenwolf to Incubus. Joe Mama
creatively stays true to the original feel of these covers, while building an
explosive amount of energy, leaving the audience craving for more and more until
exhaustion overcomes them.
So what is next for Joe? Joe Mama is currently in their studio working on their 2nd masterpiece slated for release in the spring of 2003.At the same time, Joe Mama is maintaining close ties with their fan base performing where-ever and when-ever the opportunity knocks.
So who is Joe Mama? You'll have to check out the CD, the website and the
