"jody whitesides' music is a solid mix of industrial/techno and straight-on rock that presents familiar riffs in a totally new light. It's basically more fun per square inch"
-- Margot Lester, The Gig List
Jody Whitesides is the birth of an amalgam of musical styles. He can play any style as if it were his own. The new CD is Jody's venture into the waters of industrialness. Using Drum loops and other wacky samples coupled with 7-string guitars, you know something cool will result. To this end, Jody delivers.
With Jody music is simply that... Music.
Jody Whitesides creates catchy and instantly recognizable songs, that get better with every listen. His style is Rock on steroids, mixed with acid and can be compared to a cross-blend of Collective Soul, Korn, and Nine Inch Nails. Each of the songs available here are perfectly suited for release either on top 40 or Alternative radio formats.
Along with being a talented songwriter, Jody is also a well traveled live performer. He has thrilled audiences from coast to coast, both as an energetic frontman and an accomplished solo artist. Jody has played at the House of Blues (in Los Angeles) with Operation: Queensryche, The Zephyr Club (in Salt Lake City) with Amalgam, and has been a guest performer with The Boogie Knights on numerous occasions. He is now working on generating large profits.
A seasoned professional, Jody has played with Lisa Loeb, opened for Chris Whitley, and worked with members of: Billie Myers, Brendon Lynch, Meredith Brooks, Tal Bachman, The David Lee Roth Band, Joe Satriani, and Toto. Jody has also sung backups with Talisman and is writing with Jack White (Rick Springfield, Ike & Tina Turner). Ever perfecting the craft, Jody is a graduate of the Musician's Institute and an alumnus of Berklee College of Music.
Jody's latest CD, "E.nergy A.udio R.evolution", is currently in the mix stage. Jody's former band, Amalgam, received radio play nationally and earned three out of four stars from rock critic Andrew Kiraly of Las Vegas' City Life. Most recently, Jody has landed a song on the soundtrack for the upcoming movie 'Dead Air'. He has now set his sights on his ultimate goal: "Razing the bar on pop trash."
One of the main reasons I play music is to play live. I love to feed off the energy of the crowd. It's a huge reward to have people push you to your limits as a performer.
One of the best memories I have of playing live is at the House of Blues in Los Angeles. The atmosphere that night was absolutely electric. It was such an amazing audience and the band had a great time. The House of Blues treats you like a rock star, whether you are or not.
I have played from coast to coast, but currently have been working So. Cal. and the western states.
The current CD is like a lovechild produced from a threeway of Collective Soul, Nine Inch Nails, and Korn.
