J-Luv was born in Tallahassee, FL on August 23, 1982. J-Luv is the last of four children. Since his first musical experience at the age of three, J-Luv heard the melodic sounds of his church choir and has been fascinated with this particular art of expression. Getting his initial start at age six singing in his church choir, in which he quickly became one of the lead soloists, the musical optimist began artistically expressing himself by vocally performing at various weddings, talent shows, and many other special occasions. As he matured, his love for music led him to take his passion into a more serious direction. He meticulously began writing, recording, and marketing himself.
With the constant encouragement and support of family, friends, and local promoters, J-Luvs persistence has awarded him the opportunity to record with the group Field Mob (DTP) and perform opening acts for the famous AVANT, T-Pain, Blood Raw, B.G. and savvy Guinwine. In addition, J-Luv has recorded and performed original compositions with several rock bands, as well as assisted with the arrangement and recording of hip-hop music for various up and coming artist.
His perseverance and his sky is the limit approach has also landed him the privilege to be the winner of the Grand Apollo, locally sponsored by Big Kahuna Sports Bar where he experienced his first professional Video-shoot featuring his debut single, Let Me Make Luv to You produced by the Mad Violinist, Mr. Ashanti Floyd. Most recently through the recognition of his local community, J-Luv has been selected as the winner of the GFL-New Kid.Kidz on the block Award sponsored by Thrill-Da Playa of 100.7 The Beat.Have you performed in front of an audience?I love to sing live, and I amaze many by singing acappella. My special moment was when I won a local competition that has given me the exposure that I am now receiving.
