Hopey is a 21 yr old female born in Wellington, NZ to Maori parents hailing from Ranana, Wanganui River & Mokau, King Country. Hopey is a female beatboxer currently residing in Brisbane, Australia. She has been beatboxing for 7 years and has been gigging for the last 4 years.
Hopey was apart of the all beatbox crew Beatbox Alliance which consisted of 6 of australias finest beatboxers, they went on to tour Australia with Joel Turner & MDP. During the downtime of touring, Hopey found the time to conduct School workshops throughout Brisbane.
During that time she picked up her sponsorship from beatboxers' own label, Mic(ism). She also became a solid member of the Urban Prophetz Crew based in Sydney.
Hopey has performed at some awesome events such as blues & roots festivals, channel v detour bus, melbourne music festival, coke live, australian idol final, big day out, return of the bgirl 3 just to name a few.
After a couple years of dope performances, great workshops & the birth of her son which lead to a year of focusing on her health, in 2008 she is back!!..
Hopey is undoubtedly one of the best female beatboxers worldwide, her beats are precise & perfected through years of experience, she is a professional in her artform and delivers a mindblowing experience to any crowd she comes across.
Hopey teaches workshops, collabs, performs & is open to new experiences.
