I am a solo recording artist from the Detroit, Michigan area. All of my albums and E.P.'s are "home produced" recordings that I produce for friends and family. I play guitar, bass, banjo, mandolin, dulcimer, keyboards, synthesizers, and drums.
My music ranges from acoustic pieces to synthesizer experimentation to death metal to bluegrass to ambient, ect. I play most of the instruments on my solo work but I occasionally like to record with some of the talented musicians that I've met over the years. I record my music onto a variety of formats including a 2-track stereo reel to reel recorder from the early 60's, 4-track analog cassette, and 24-track digital.
I have recorded 8 solo albums and 6 solo E.P.s'. I have also recorded with "Tonto Savalas" and "The Buddha All-Stars", two very experimental rock bands who have "home produced" over 24 full length albums between them.
In addition to my solo and Tonto/Buddha outings I work and record with an "improv" rock band called "House Music" whose music is always created on the spot. I have recorded 18 albums with "House Music".
I am also half of a duo called "Spooky Garcia" We play bluegrass and country music in the style of the 1920's and 30's greats but we also have a soft spot for 1950's and 60's country music. We are currently writing music for our debut CD.
I haven't played live in a long time but once in a while I entertain the thought of playing live either with a full band or doing solo acoustic shows.
