UPDATE: J4P has joined forces with others to form Phobia Records (www.phobiarecords.com) comprised of friends from lyricwars.com...lyricwars has gone offline so we decided to start our own thing..the site has band info, member bios, and a forum for any interested in checking it out..
Nick and I have been writing poetry together for a long time, and back in 03' he found the site lyricwars.com..we started text battling there and soon realized how easy it would be to record..so we bought we got a cheap mic and mixer from radioshack and started recording...we started to take it more seriously as time went on and it keeps progressing as the days go by..
We met click and krem on lyricwars and they had personalities similar to ours and sick lyrical ability so we grouped up with them...click flew over this year and spent 2 weeks with us, eventually he plans on moving somewhere near here so we can work on stuff easier...
not yet...look how far apart we are!!!
Nick and I are workin' on doin' a show at a local college and a few other clubs in the area..We recently hooked up with a dj who's willing to spin for us so we should be doin' a lot of live shows soon...
I listen to a lot of different genres of music so i'm not going to get into it fully...I listen to a good mix of rap, classic rock, and modern rock..I also play bass guitar so i have a good sense of rythm n'whatnot...
right now we're working with a mackie vlz 1202 pro mixer and an mxl 990 mic...we record through the computer with adobe audtion 1.5 with native waves gold plug in, and occasionally use t-racks to sharpen up tracks...
we've got a few albums coming out this summer...nick's first solo lp, the J4P mixtape, and we're putting some tracks down for the first Phobia Records mixtape named "Save The Music Vol 1"...all albums will be available for sale at phobiarecords.com as soon as they are released...
