Band/artist history
J.A.K.S. consists of two young artists: Esquible (Double J), who is originally from San Antonio, and has strong Mexican roots = emcee. And Dubble K, who is originally from Fall River, Massachusetts, and has strong Portuguese roots = production work and emcee. The two met in Newport News, Virginia, and formed the group J.A.K.S. in 2001, and collaborated on two full length LP's. "We formed the group (J.A.K.S.) because we shared the same views on a lot of different subjects, one of them being the status of hip hop and the direction we saw it heading. We wanted to create something that was different, intelligent, and at the same time catchy. "We're two average dudes who have a strong passion for music and want to reach an audience that is looking for more than just a catchy hook when they hear music." Currently J.A.K.S. is working on the third LP, and hope to reach a bigger audience that is hungry for more than just another cliche artist with cliche music.

No real big stage appearances yet, but we're still trying to get that going.
