Jacob Moon
Intelligent and beautiful songs about life and hope Remarkable technical ability infused with spirituality and heart
It's not every day that a musician comes along who wears as many hats as Jacob Moon. Not only is he a beautiful singer and masterful guitar player, but he writes all his own music, arranges it and has produced several recordings as well. He has released two recordings to date: 1994's "On the Trail" and 1998's "Among the Thieves".
"Among the Thieves" is Moon's best yet--a stunning display of his diverse writing talents and production savvy. At the core of the songs lies the smooth, resonant vioce and sure-handed guitar of a man who knows his craft. Already a hit and a brisk seller, "Among the Thieves" has also landed strong radio play across the country on a variety of stations and formats.
Jacob plays live frequently, at book stores, cafes and concert theatres. Check out his website to see where and when.
I love music that has real depth to it. Whether that's emotional depth, like the singing of Bonnie Raitt, Shawn Colvin or Paul Carrack; or lyrical depth like Leonard Cohen, Elvis Costello or Steely Dan. Musically, I dig everybody from Daniel Lanois to Ron Sexsmith to Bela Fleck to Pat Metheny. As a singer songwriter, I'm drawn to the traditions of soul-searching begun by people like James Taylor, Rich Mullins and Marc Cohn.
