Ison/April songs was started as a songwriting collaboration idea on the net from Jan 26th 05,between 2 eclectic indie artists...... i.e me from England and from California... We'd been pming each other regularly about each others music on a site called 'Garageband'-and one time i casually mentioned that i found it alot easier to write music than words..Steve April replied,suggesting he send over some lyrics he had no tunes for and see how i get on..I wrote a few tunes quite easily to his(excellent) lyrics,so we then pushed the boat a little further out and reckoned,in an insanely ambitious and optimistic way,to try and write 50 songs together by June this year.. At this point (May 7th) we've written 45 songs together so far.. Its quite an adventure..For me,its been stretching and pushing at my creative boundaries to search for different styles and ways to make a 3 minute pop song interesting lol...And a big challenge for Steve April as well ,pushing his lyric writing and poetic psyche into unchartered waters to come up with different themes and ideas..... Anyways,this page is like a 'grand central station' for all of these,so hopefully some time soon there will actually be 50 songs up here... Some of which i've taken the time to produce/recorded pretty fully(and might also appear under my 'Steve Ison' performing name on pages round the net,at sometime......) Some of which will be sketched out very roughly as 'songs for hire' demo's,with just a couple of acoustics or something............and some will be performed/recorded by Steve April(and maybe promoted on his pages on the net also too) Enjoy!
