There are a lot of snakes out here that aren't real and are giving the masses some broke-pipe dream, covering up the truth. We're bringing the untold truth, and that's it. I mean right now hop-hop is in a state of garbage and idols. We aren't trying to see any of that junk kid. We want to feed the seeds, and give life to the lost.Band/artist history
"A lot of emcees try to portray thug-life in their lyrics. They claim to have seen and done things to get street credibility, but everything they imagine themselves to be on ink, I am in life. Whether or not I chose to be, it's the true meaning of who I am." -Ironclad.
Personal hardship is no stranger to the prolific emcee who, because of his life experiences points out such vivid images of life first hand. At a tender age Ironclad witnessed the violence of the streets while growing up in Eastside Long Beach.
At 12-years-old Ironclad went to live with his grandparents and aunt who raised him until the streets claimed its own. "They insisted that I read a book every week. I owe them for nurturing my mind and teaching me the importance of words. At the time, I didn't understand what they were instilling in me, because I wanted to hangout like all the other kids. It wasn't until I touched the mic that those alphabets came to life."
After graduating high school from Long Beach Jordan. Ironclad enrolled at Cerritos Community College as a computer information systems major. He thrived at college, but he found his interest shifting toward his first love...making music. "School was all right," says Ironclad "...but instead of hitting the books, I started writing a lot of rhymes and sharpening up my mic skills. I tried doing both, but in my sophomore year I decided to leave school to give my music my complete attention, knowing that I could always go back to get my degree and which I still plan to do."Your musical influences
Canibus and GZA by far are the two emcees I could listen to for days. Theses cats come with the principals or rhyming that I am striving for in my own rhymes.Anything else?
"...Emcees are in effect again, leading the saber-toothed, hungry pack is that verbal time-and-space bender himself, Ironclad."Contact
