Be Your Own fin' God - Be Your Own f***in' God -

Great song, decent recording - pacy, urgent, catchy, heavy. Melodic. Etc.

Fairly groovy in places, ultra-low quality recording, one of our songs. I like it. Only recording on here with vocals.

It's our version Chuck Schuldiner's classic. We were messing about for about half an hour in our practice space and ended up with this. Don't ask why. If you know the original, you'll get the joke - and you'll either love it or hate it. Dunno which.

As a celebration of my getting a boss BR-864, the second song I've done on it. S'alright, in my opinion.

Band/artist history
Pre-Us Architect weren't so much formed as spontaneously grown, a bit like mould. Way back in year 9, me and Adam started to play guitar. Ash played bass, so we talked on and off about forming a band. Danny was our drummer before he'd ever had a drum kit, and yes, before he could ever drum - claiming that his dad was a great drummer so obviously he was, he kind of appointed himself our drummer. To be honest, none of us are about to complain. So we floated around doing nothing until Danny got a drumkit, then had some bass-based trauma, and then got over it. We got a gig at school so we had to find a name and a singer. It ended up being that "the Disappointments" was the name and we asked Chris Durkin to sing for us because he liked rock music and had previously sung in choir. In primary school. We did two gigs with this line up (even though Ashley decided not to play for the first gig, leaving our mighty friend Rock'n'Roll Tommy to step in). We made a few songs, none of note except maybe 'the punk song' (which apparently isn't even remotely like a punk song) and 'Flamenco el Shreddo' - a three chord creation which we somehow thought would take over the world. Middle-Us Taking the punk song as middle ground, we suddenly seemed to evolve to a new style. Our professional relationship with Chris waned somewhat after the "horrible second gig" (which got everyone down), and following my very short stint as acoustic guitar-based-bassist for Stolen (don't ask) "A Day In The Life" was born. And it didst rock. And then, in a very short time, came "Be Your Own Fucking God", "One Demon" and finally "You Know You'll Never Be Free" - these four became the cornerstone of...well, us. After a long hiatus, we were asked if we'd like to do a gig at the Royal with Stolen - we accepted, limped along with no singer and got a great reaction. Somehow. Current-Us After a brief, ill-considered (and before anyone takes this seriously, entirely fictional) stint as a pop/punk band, we managed to get into contact with Tim - who seemed the obvious choice to be our singer as me and him shared a bus stop for several years and he "got me into" metal. Obviously. We've more new songs now, some covers and are becoming a half-professional band. Recording time will either soon be booked or will soon be won, depending on our upcoming gig. We also have some management company interest, and a great deal of enthusiasm for the whole thing. So yeah. We're ace. A Quick Who's Who... Tim sings, Adam rocks, Ash basses, Jez (me) noodles, and Danny beats plastic sheets stretched over wooden pans with sticks. Rejoice.
Have you performed in front of an audience?
Yeah, it's great. We get as many gigs as we can - special moment is maybe Jez nearly trying to stop halfway through a song because his favourite female got knocked down in the pit. T'was funny.
