Distant Memories Distant Memories

Harmonised lead guitar early on & vocals which would have David Coverdale jealously looking on from the wings. It's an uptempo rock ballad of real class & Dante Marchi's vocals are a revelation.

Goin' Down And Dirty Goin' Down And Dirty

Highlights the textural ranges of Iain's composition & guitar work & has all the hallmarks of a truly classic rock song.

No Stranger No Stranger

No Stranger slips smoothly into the opening vocal lines with Mike Stone's performance a highlight. The song picks up on a delightful rhythm as a genuine blues / rock "hybrid". Oozes class.

Blues Rock

Moriah Moriah

The guitar intro is exquisite, unmistakable Fender Strat, dynamically driven & caressed. Keyboards & sound effects add that little extra but the guitar brings a most fitting conclusion to Iain's CD "Fallen Angel".

Band/artist history
Iain has performed with numerous name artists over the years as well as having played on a number of video sound tracks. He has a solo CD Fallen Angel, which has been released in both Japan and Europe, and there's also a follow-up CD in the pipeline. Growing up in New England, he cut his teeth on the heavier British Rock Bands such as Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, Bad Company and guitar players like Beck, Blackmore and Hendrix. Later seeking to expand his musical vocabulary he studied at Berklee College of Music in Boston where he expanded his realm into that of Jazz improvisation. Eventually though, he returned to the fold of Rock and Roll. "There was something about the pull of one's roots and missing the power that comes from simplicity." Certainly influenced by the voices from the past he always strived to grow musically and develop his own style and has now certainly carved out his own unique voice and signature. To define his style would be to conjure up an interesting recipe, and in his own words: "It's kind of a Heavy Blusey Classic Rock with a hint of Fusion overtones." But the comment that he most often hears and of which he most strongly identifies is: "People are always coming up and saying how much I sound like me." A consummate player of the Fender Stratocaster this CD contains some of the purist, sweetist and 'narlyist' tones from the instrument you will have the opportunity to experience. Shunning all the hi-tech gadgets in favor of a less-is-more, straight-ahead attitude he says, "Nothing beats a vintage 'Strat' powered by an old Marshall!"
