Here's the scoop... these guys are for real!!! A refreshinng alternative to the "hip-pop" stuff on the radio and mtv. They talk about what they know, they don't pretend to be what they're not (although for fun, they do incorporate some of the rap cliches) You WON'T find them rhyming over someone elses beats, they write, produce, record and perform all of their stuff themselves. They use very very few sample sounds, and on almost all of their tracks THEY EVEN PLAY THE DAMN INSTRUMENTS!!! enjoy!!Band/artist history
Hydeville consists of 2 pairs of brothers from Hydeville Vermont (hence the name 4 members from Hydeville) The members have known eachother since birth, and have been rhyming together for a few years now. What started as just a way for "4 brothers" to hang out and have fun together has turned into much much more.
The Members:
Special K- real name Chris Knauer, aka The Main Attraction. At age 20 K is the baby of the bunch. He is the quick spittin, herb lovin, skateboardin, smooth flowin, member of the group. His style is often compared to Eminem's, but his content is much more cerebral and much less hateful.
Manny Stank- real name Ryan Manovill, aka Stinky. At age 21 he is the second youngest of the group. He is the nasty, grimey, tattooed out straight thug of the crew who gives Hydeville almost all of their street credibility. His style is reminiscent of Sticky Fingaz and DMX, and his content makes parents cover their childrens' ears and listeners ask "He didn't just say what I think he said, did he?"
Squeaky J- real name Zack Knauer, aka Squeak. At age 22 he is the second oldest of Hydeville. He is the brain behind the musical side of Hydeville he produces the tracks, plays the instruments on the songs, and performs the singing on those parts (all with the help and contributions of the rest of the group too.) His style is hard to describe with aspects from all of his influences present, and his content very truthful and intellectual.
Powder- real name Sean Manovill, aka The Interpretor. At age 23 he is the oldest of the four. He is the slick dressing, smooth talking business man behind Hydeville due to his marketing know how, and salesman savy. His style ranges from smooth and soft like Slick Rick or L.L. Cool J to angry and loud like DMX and anywhere in between while able to turn it around 180 degrees on a dime, and his content is much like his personality smooth, cocky, and often comical.
From the above bios it is easy to see that hydeville is an eclectic group with 4 very different personalities but great chemistry, and something for everyone. Though there have been some setbacks in recording they are expecting the release of their first full length album very soon. until then keep checking out this site to download new songs, and we'll keep you posted on the album date, and live shows.Have you performed in front of an audience?We got this rap thing started during a pretty hectic time in our lives. 3 of us were off at different colleges and one in the air force so what little time we could get together has been spent writing and recording. Also a couple of us are involved in other music projects that have busy gigging schedules. So, the answer to the question is no we haven't played live as a group yet, but we'd like to, and some of us have performed in other groups and individually. we love it.

we record using a boss-roland br-532 digital 4-track. Most of the instruments on the tracks are played by squeak or special k and they use the following: gibson jc-180 acoustic electric guitar, gretsch synchromatic, and epiphone less paul electric guitars, ltd esp b-50 bass, yamaha alto sax, some cheap keyboards and synthesizers, alternate percussion and other instruments, a drum machine, and we are now starting to get into some sampling software such as Ejay.Anything else?
