Band/artist history
Humble Worm has been going through band members and names since the summer of 2002. It was just a drummer and I. I think our original name was the Healing Explosion. Under this monicker we recorded some really bad 4 track demos and I sold them at high school (I was all of sixteen at the time) sort of as a gimmick so I could get the money to buy marijuana and cigarettes. It worked out well, I suppose. I think around that time we played our first show at this old theatre-prestochango-venue to an audience of about 7 people in my little redneck cowboy hometown of Coweta, Oklahoma. One of them described it as offensive and disgusting. That makes me special in some manner or another, right? All I really want is to be special... In February of 2003 we borrowed that kids four track again and recorded another set of demos, just me and the drummer. It had a sprawling 22 song tracklist, collecting terrible performances, audio experiments, acoustic songs, and a mass amount of mistakes. We changed our band name to Mantra (drummer's terrible idea). In the summer of 2003 Krystle Watson joined us on bass guitar and we began playing shows in local basements and a couple of crappy venues. By the fall, we had cut the 22 tracks down to six, and maybe we did some other things. I really don't remember. We replaced the drummer that winter and began playing much better shows, sometimes at a venue that was actually good. In February of 2004 we recorded more 4 track demos, this time finally making a product that I was satisfied with. These are the songs that you will find on this site. Then, in the late spring of 2004, the band had to take a break for a while due to personal reasons. But now, autumn 2005, we are beginning to rehearse songs for a new album.
