In his own words: "I was born and raised in Ghana, West Africa, as a missionary kid and was heavily influenced by Ghanaian beats and culture. So I bring the varied experiences of traveling and living in other cultures to the songwriting process. When I write, I try to tell stories through word pictures so that people can really visualize things, and use metaphor to expose the depth of meaning that those pictures have for me. Writing and performing music from the depths of my being has really been an incredibly growing process, and it is a way of connecting with other people, of sharing my soul's experiences with them." Hiram has been playing at open mics and coffeehouses in the Lancaster-York, PA area for the past several months (as of Dec 2005). His repertoire includes over 20 originals.
