Welcome to the the site of High Society, one of Britains best up and coming bands!
High Society is the brain-child of Peter MacDougall, a 22 year old singer/sonwriter from the west of Scotland. Although a rock band, they've generated a large local following over the past year mainly due to a string
of successful live acoustic performances.
And when you combine the free-flowing acoustic ballads with the electrifying rock anthems that will be filling stadiums in years to come, you've got one thing.......the next Oasis!
Peter, a huge Oasis fan has been playing the guitar for about 6 years. After a brief spell at college in Glasgow he is now back in Oban with the current line-up putting together demos for the eagerly anticipated debut album. Chosen from over 150 songs the album entitled 'Somewhere By The Side Of The Road' could easily be one of the biggest debut albums EVER!
However, because it is a self-funded album (with very limited funds) there WILL be a bit of a wait for it's release. So patience is a must......unless of course that lucrative record or publishing deal comes along!
One thing is for sure.....this is big!
Because the band has just went through a 'transitional period' (new band members etc...) gigs have been few and far between, just a few acoustic sets - however, we hope to get going on the gigging front ASAP.
Oasis is definately the main influence. The sound, the feel, the attitude....it's all Oasis-like (and not by mistake either).
In my opinion you never change a winning formula!
