Gypsy Hill Reunion is a band formed in 2004 by a group of studio musicians who have been playing together, in one band or another, since 1987. Having its original roots in a jam-band named The Sons of Sound, formed in Fairfax, Virginia in the late 1980s, the members of Gypsy Hill Reunion live in 6 different states, including Rhode Island, Virginia, North Carolina, Washington state, Georgia and Arizona. The original members of the Sons of Sound, including Hector Guiterrez, Jack Ryan, Dennis Flanders, Kelly Miller, Jack "Herb" Lawrence, and Chris Okay met, became close personal friends, and began playing music together because they loved playing music together. They are still best friends, and they still play music together (UPDATE: We found Herb, he's living in Richmond. and he's been in touch). Their enduring love for playing live music -- rock and blues music, especially the "second-tier" 70s rock bands, and the later bands that lived and evoked that music (The Black Crowes, The Allman Brothers, Robin Trower, Pat Travers, Steely Dan, Robert Cray, The Grateful Dead) -- has included a long-standing tradition of band "reunions" occurring frequently over the years, in spite of careers, families, babies, financial difficulties, and the normal vagaries of everyday life.
Band/artist history
It will all be here, as stated above. Founded 1987. Gypsy Hill Reunion -- It's All About The Music, Baby!(tm)
Have you performed in front of an audience?
We live in the United States, we'll play anywhere, we love to play, it's all we think about. The key aspect of Gypsy Hill Reunion is the gathering together of its members to play together, live -- while the internet is wonderful in that it allows us to e-mail concepts and song parts and melodies to each other for development, there is no substitute for the groove, the beat, the vibration we feel when we play together -- and this happens EVERY TIME -- that's why we can't get enough of it. When we're at our desks or in our work trucks driving to our next job, we're dreaming about it. We live it, breathe it, eat it sleep it, drink it. So many special moments we can't count -- you can wait for the book, or better yet, come see us play -- we'll tell you some of the stories.

Hi,
Just hearing "Before" and "After.." excellent live played. You have a strong rocking groove again. It comes from your very powerful kind of playing (great rythm section) and the right voice for this rock blues.
Greetings from ORPLID
