Guillermo Anderson

Guillermo Anderson is perhaps Honduras best known World Music Artist and Singer-Songwriter.

Accompannied by his 6 piece band CEIBANA, his music ranges from very percussive, influenced by the rythms of the Gariifuna Culture , an afro-caribbean culture of the Honduran coast, to very intimate guitar and vocals.

Guillermo Anderson has tour widely with his band and as a solo artist throughout the american continent, Europe and Asia.

Guillermo Anderson es uno de los artistas mas conocidos de Honduras.Acompañado de una banda de 6 musicos, los temas de Guillermo van desde arreglos muy cargados ritmicamente e influenciados por la percusion Garifuna (etnia afrocaribeña de Honduras) hasta temas y actuaciones muy intimas a voz y guitarra. Anderson esta constantemente de gira con su banda asi tambien como solista. Sus giras lo han llevado a recibir aplausos en escenarios de Norte, Centro y Sudamerica, Islas del Caribe, Europa y Asia.

Estamos constantemente de gira por Centroamerica. Tocamos en Estados Unidos, Europa y hemos actuado 2 veces en Asia. Lo disfrutamos mucho, momentos especiales...Actuar par 54 mil almas en la plaza central de Taipei, Taiwan, en el "Festival Centroamericano del Cafe".

Un concierto muy especial en una diminuta pista de aterrizaje de una aldea en la zona selvatica de la Mosquitia Honduras.

Actuar en los festivales de World Music en Holanda y un memorable concierto en Sao Paolo, Brazil.

Began interested in American Singer-Songwriters like Paul Simon , James Taylor, Jim Croce, then

very much interested in latin american singer-songwriters like Pablo Milanès and Silvio Rodriguez from Cuba, and then Gilberto Gil and Caetano Velhoso form Brazil.

I live in a place wich is an interesting mixture of caribbean cultures , so I became very influenced by Garifuna rythms,an afrocaribbean culture from the honduran coast and began to experiment.

Comence interesado en cantautores norteamericanos como Paul Simon, James Taylor y Jim Croce, despues conoci y me interese mucho en los latinoamericanos como Pablo Milanes, Silvio Rodriguez de Cuba y luego en los brasileños como Caetano Velhoso y Gilberto Gil.

Vivo en un lugar donde hay una mezcla interesante de culturas caribeñas, de manera que me influenciaron los ritmos garifunas, una cultura afrocaribeña de la costa de Honduras y comence a experimentar.
