Representing the Southside of Atlanta (ATL), comes the real underground artist that the streets have been missing, introducing Grip DaRippa, the next out of the ATL to blow. His style, Gangsta, but he also has mass appeal, which is shown on his title song “Ride wit a “G”, featuring Lil Will singing the hook, this song can appeal to every genre. Grip also gives the club some bangers with “See Me [CRUNK]”, and “Like This and Like That”. The main focus of the album is to give you to the streets, and Grip paints a picture on every track, such as, “No Way, No How”, “People Should Know U”, and “Suicide”. This album has no weakness it is hard from beginning to the end. Grip will be the next big thing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Born in Asbury Park, N.J., but raised in the projects of Atlanta, the oldest of four boys, Nick Rawlings, a.k.a. Grip Da Rippa discovered rap long before he ever recorded a song. He would spit rhymes in the community he lived in (Thomasville), for hours on in with his friends. Persuaded by his friend Gauge (who was a member of a group called Gangsta Tribe) Grip reluctantly featured on the Tribes song called “Sleep Walkin”.
Everyone began to take notice of his skills and Grip began featuring on other local rap group albums. Feeling he needed to show his skills to the world now, Grip joined forces with a clique called Playaz Circle, at the same time he formed a group made up of six friends called Gorilla Squad. He featured on both underground albums, and people started to really notice his skills and the streets began to demand an album, which he would later entitle “Ride Wit A “G”.
