From the far reaches of the musical universe, The Funkonauts are just that: astronauts of funk, exploring all realms of funkitude:breaks,elecrto, drum and bass,downtempo,disco,house,hip hop,trip hop,and of course funk.Funkonauts will always explore the cosmic grooves,so they can anlyze the data,and provide funky results for all mankind.
Band/artist history
We formed 1995 with myself (evel steve), The Perverted Minion (Asaad Morales) and Funky Frank. Assad of course, is a righteous brotha and he always comes through, and Funky Frank moved to the Big Apple. (good idea, if you asked me) In 2002, evel steve finally got a computer to make this music the right way, instead of cutting and pasting with the Roland TR-800 back at the old lab.
Have you performed in front of an audience?
No, but I do rock out in my bedroom. Oh I like it. Everyday is a special moment since the Groovy Cosmic Father has blessed the Funkonauts with the ability to get down.

Heatwave,James Brown,George Clinton,The Meters,Sly Stone,Zapp,Roger Trout,The Bar Kays, Graham Central Station,Bootsy Collins, Cameo,Slave,Mandril, Malcolm X,Idi Amin (no, just kidding on the last two) Run DMC,Big Daddy Kane,Eric B. And Rakim,EPMD,Chemical Brothers,Cassius,Basement Jaxx,Daft Punk, blaxploitation movies,soul food and the psycho-alpha-disco-beta-aqua-boogie funk.
What equipment do you use?
A computer,but I also use a pimp hat,bell-bottom pants, platform shoes, afro wig, gold chains, cadillac, plenty of blaxploitation videos, baby pwder, Jovan Musk oil, and plenty of funk.
