Blurring the distinction between styles with hypnotic grooves and textural soundscapes is the essence of Full Blown Kirk. Though quickly having wrought their own unique sound, this Kent, Ohio band is perpetually reinventing themselves with experimental techniques. Their music rolls with a pocket-precision groove that is impossible to ignore. Drawing from techno and hip-hop, Full Blown Kirk develops entrancing, danceable rhythms. Their recordings and performances employ an innovative blend of electronic and acoustic material.
Band/artist history
Some like minded musicians and tech junkies would meet up in a basement to make noises with various instruments and electronics every couple of days. This eventually grew into a computercentric recording studio. We combined sounds from our jams with visiting musicians with our own playing, environmental samples, and whatever else we could think of to form a large catalog of widely varying material. The line-up of FBK is in constant flux. Sometimes when there are enough members, we play out but the emphasis has always been on studio work. The Pigface/revolving door line-up approach combined with the eclectic source of sounds lends itself to a diverse sound (check out the song "trouser".) Lately, we have thought of ourselves more as technology artists than a band. This is evident on our website (play the "sinegarden" audio game -flash 3 required-). The internet is currently our favorite medium for expression.
Have you performed in front of an audience?
we have played many live shows but are currently taking a break. if we get enough cool musicians together, we might play out some more
