Band/artist history
History of From Grace On the 21st of April 2003, Augo and Houston were on a train home from an Akercocke gig, and they decided to form a band. Augo had been in Introduction 2 Exits with Nick and Snozz and drummer Wack and also another metal quartet Kingman. These two bands had split and Augo wanted to give it another go so he and Houston (who was part of Malakite), started to put together a project they named The Ded Rabbits. Their aim was an awesome metal experience to mix the stylings of Dark Tranquillity and In Flames with the hard-hitting feel of Pantera. No one would take them seriously yet. Their first choice for guitar was Nick, he did not join the band immediately however. Snozz turned the band down, and James SHOOTAH Gunn filled the bass slot. Gabby Meseder was the other Guitarist lined up for the band and she filled her position with aggressive riffs and she was a great asset to the band. After only one practice the band split with bassist James after musical differences bullshit aside he wanted punk, and Augo and Houston were not too pleased. The first ever song by this crew had been compiled and it was a first version of Lost. Nick then officially joined the band and the riffs became more technically appealing, influences from bands such as Dimmu Borgir, In Flames and even Atreyu became more apparent also the fact that Augo and Nick were best mates held Nicks position in the band as a non-mover from the line-up. Beyond Superdome was written all the time getting better. The band was not complete, but they still played The Verge in Camden Town on Wednesday August 20th with hardcore experts and ex-members of Sikth, only otherwise known as Moments Of Anger (a force not to be fucked with). This gig was thanks to Tiggy from Path Of Betrayal who also delivered a fiery set that night. Also playing were God Found Dead (another amazing band from the area) and a band with the same drummer as G.F.D whose name was not quite caught. Snozz came to the show to check out the Ded-Rabbits and must have seen some sort of potential in the not too respectful performance and agreed to join the band. Then when all members were wasted, the name From Grace replaced the Ded-Rabbits and, when sober, the band was still happy with it. The band was complete, so it seemed. Then there was a lot of controversy with the amicable split of Gabby from the band. Brownie joined. From Grace had to virtually start again but the sound slowly progressed to a From Gracial debut at The Cartoon in Croydon on Sunday th 21st of December, with Slag Munky, Paid To Smile, The Retakes and Half-Inch Heroes. From Grace didnt really fit the line-up at all but were invited to play by top-motherfuckers of the Bromley Chick-Rock scene Paid To Smile when the gig was set up and agreed. The gig went well and the band received a great review from Snaps (www.snapsite.i8.com). The band continued writing songs to record their first demo entitled Wall Of Violence. - Written by Alex Augustyn
Have you performed in front of an audience?
We play as many live shows as possible, playing a live show is possibly one of the best exxperiences that we have had. We have played some of England's most well known venues like the Tunbridge Wells forum and the Mean Fiddler (Formerly LA2). I think the most special moment was when our vocalist (augo)got the audience of around 700 to sing to a part of a song and the croud reaction to our set was phenominal
Your musical influences
Our Musical influences range from emo to melodic death metal, the bands that influence us are Avenged Sevenfold, In Flames, Arch Enemy, Dark Tranquility, 3rd Strike and in part, thursday
