FTB takes the listener on a musical journey covering a variety of styles that include rock, blues, jazz, and some acoustic work as well. Honest songs of faith, & life, connected with instrumental pieces, reveal a level of comfort and mutual creativity among the band, as they seek to hone their musical skills and combine contemporary styles to create their own sound. While the majority of songs performed are original, FTB also does their own covers of some popular CC songs.
Band/artist history
FTB (Frank Trail Band) is the realization of a dream by its founder to create music that combines contemporary and diverse musical styles into a unique expression of faith and art. After being involved in various groups/combos of players, FTB finally came together at the start of 2007. Several of the band members have played together before in other bands over the past few years: Frank, Andrew, Shane & Jeremy were part of a local worship band, SURRENDER; while Frank, Andrew, Isaac, & Erin continue to play together on the worship team at their local church (Whitepine Baptist in Riverview, NB). With the exception of the addition of Frank's son, Isaac, on keyboards in September of 2007, and the departure of Jeremy Quiring in January 2008 (acoustic rhthym guitar) the present lineup shared their talents in the recording new CD project, "MOSAIC." This new project is a collection of Frank's most recent original songs, and includes a remake of 'I Believe in You' from his 1992 album 'MOVERS & SHAKERS.' The project was recorded, mixed, and co-produced with Frank by Dave Yanofsky who owns and operates Green Room East in Moncton, NB. After being involved musically in a wide variety of settings over several years (both in bands and solo) Frank is excited to be playing with such a talented group of people who share his passion for music. "I have definitely been blessed and challenged musically and spiritually by so many gifted people," says Frank. "Most of us in the band have been around long enough that we know what we want to play, and we are committed to the craft of seeking to create good music. We are also diverse enough that we bring a broad pallette of tastes and experiences to the table, which results in- I think- a unique band. While we do play some cover tunes, we continue to explore playing original songs that might not fit the 'mold' of what is popular on the radio." As FTB continues to carve out its niche, and people discover the fresh sound that draws from rock/pop, blues, jazz, and even folk music, the goal will remain the same: seeking excellence with integrity in music and a message that engages those who will take the time to listen.
