Formed in 2002, 5MR possesses that forgotten classic rock mentality: that of the power trio. Remember Cream? The Jimi Hendrix Experience? Just like these bands, bass, guitar, and drums make up 5MR's sonic palatte. Knotty instrumental passages, ensemble playing, and funky grooves. Old fashioned RAWK AND ROLL never sounded this real or this impassioned. Lest you think that 5MR is another run of the mill "rock and roll revival" band, there's a number of twists to 5MR - most notably in the vocal section. "When it came time to audition a vocalist, we thought; Why not put a microphone in front of Marc?" says Jeff Berner, guitarist for 5MR. "Marc", in this case, is Marc Capaldo, lead vocalist and drummer for the band. Marc's assured voice and steady handed stick work provide a strong method of leading the band - without resembling, well, Phil Collins. (sorry Phil.)On bass guitar and harmony vocals is the dynamic David Geschewendt. Dave's solid basslines form the backbone of the band. To round out 5MR, Jeff Berner is the guitarist and harmony vocalist. 5MR has opened up for such varied acts as Mos Def, Midtown, and Living Colour.

I dig your stuff. Your drummer has some strong vocals. Guitar sounds good too. Nice to see there's a band out there that rocks it out, but doesn't seem to consider rock music as some dude screaming into a mic w/ a wall of drop-D guitars overdriven to hell. Post some more music.
