Fallen are a three-piece alternative rock act based in Grahamstown. Their music is based around the two fundamental principles of melody and energy. The sound comprises of sharp, textured harmonies, which can rapidly transcend into a hard-hitting distorted performance.
The band formed in May 2003, it consists of ex-Hyper-Station members Andrew “Pappy” Shepherd on drums, Chris de Klerk on guitar/vocals and ex-Nemesis bassist Rob Scott.
The band debuted during the Grahamstown National Arts Festival 2003, and have since gone on to perform regular gigs around the Albany area, including the Backpacker’s Festival 2003.
Fallen are a live act and predominantly perform around the Eastern Cape, however, tours are in the pipeline for the rest of South Africa.
The bands influences include: The Beatles, The Doors, Frank Black, Led Zeppelin, Lucky Boy’s Confusion, Muse, The Parlotones, Placebo, Pink Floyd, The Police, Soul Asylum, The Springbok Nude Girls, System of a Down, The Used and The Who.
