faded sympathy is an ethereal goth rock band with female vocals...Band/artist history
1996 - Gary Thrasher meets Bethaney Fryer for the first time, as she is dating one of the other members of Gary's current band, gossamer.
Fast forward to fall 2001. Gary, fresh from his latest project, stare, joins up with Johnny Mihal, an out-of-towner who was hungry to get something going.
Flash to fall, 2003. Gary and Johnny have made many aborted attempts to form something, and after the defection of their latest singer (the last in a long line) they try one more time to get something going. Along comes Bethaney, ready to step up to the microphone. Songs came together in record time, and everyone knew it was a perfect fit. faded sympathy was born.
Combining the post-punk sounds of the early 80's, with the early 90's shoegazer swirly wall-of-sound approach, faded sympathy throws many other
influences into the mix and out comes a dark alternative sound that truly reflects the bleak outlook of our times.Have you performed in front of an audience?we do play live from time to time, about every other month. we enjoy playing live quite a bit, and some have said that we are even better live than on cd...
Your musical influences
the cure, cocteau twins, sisters of mercy, lycia, lush, and for bethaney mostly everything she hears, and a lot of classical vocal stuff...What equipment do you use?
fruity loops, and guitars and basses. more to come later...
