Ratko Filipovic aka Examine , born in January 1986. in Virovitica (Croatia), started his career in 2001. playing in Club Time, Virovitica, where he began to collect knowlege not only in technics of mixing & music production, but also in music generally. 2,5 years of residency there ends by leaving to college in Varazdin, that will result as a turning point in his musical based life. New environmet, new people and new perspective on music forced him to work more on his music that supposed to be collapsed in few words: quality dancefloor music. After a year spent on college he met Sasha Fishter & Tosh Marcato, two Varazdin based DJs & producers. Three of them soon based a music promotion project In & Out and organized a few parties in most famous north-west Croatian club Extravaganza. After a while of playing in Varazdin bars (Capella, Fashion Bar, Kult) his musical quality was recognized by Extravaganza promoters. Soon after he became one of the residents there. He was also a starter of series of parties named WCG in Virovitica. His music varies depending on a place he plays: from slower electro & minimalistic house rythms to electro & minimal associated with kind of technoid sound. In music production aspect, with every project hes trying to push the limits a bit further. His first EP, Jacked, was released in December 2006. on Slovenian digital based label Sound Evolution owned by Mark Ankh. Curently waiting for his next release on Farbton Records & working on his debut album.
Have you performed in front of an audience?
Yeah, my favorite gig was Moving @ Novi Marof, i played my live act and crowd gone nuts... still boosting my ego with that video :D
Your musical influences
Depeche Mode, Swayzak, Apparat, Ellen Allien, Richie Hawtin, Deadbeat... that's what i think now.... i'm pretty sure it wil change with time...
