I'm never happy with how this song records - hence it's not on a CD. I like the song and even though it sounds really sad, i guess it's quite uplifting. Blah blah.

Ewan Jones is a Cheltenham (UK) based singer/songwriter/youth-worker. He also plays bass for sometimes acoustic band The Black Flowers.
‘Not So Now’ is a collection of 12 songs that Ewan has written, re-written, recorded and performed over the last 4 years or so. The entire album was recorded in his bedroom using a rubbish guitar, a 30 year old Bass, a crap midi keyboard and a slow PC. He sings into his microphone through a pair of red fish-net tights. He is Welsh, but currently working with young people in Cheltenham.
Ewan’s songs could fairly be described in turn as inspiring, downbeat and melancholic. Perfect ‘crap day’ or ‘late night’ music. The lyrics range from the delicate and self-explanatory to the veiled profound.
His mum calls it ‘depressing’, but the album has also been described as ‘Possibly the most beautiful, genuine, spine tingling thing I own’, by somebody Ewan didn’t pay to offer kind words. Comparisons to recent popular singer-songwriters may be warranted, but Ewan’s influences range from Alanis Morisette to Metallica, via Ben Folds, Herbie Hancock and Humphrey Lytleton.

I have two official releases -
NOT SO NOW (2004) - is new; a sort of collection of my best (i use that word tenuously) old songs and some new ones that i got excited about. It followed on from....
MEDIOCRE MELANCHOLY (2003): This CD came about in an attempt to slap together some of the music i have worked on over the last three years, into a format that i can use to promote my songwriting. It features 12 original songs, listed with details below. Quality of recordings vary - some had weeks of tweaking, re-writing and re-recording, while others were laid down in one take. All were made in my bedroom, using (at the most): acoustic guitar, a 10 squire strat, 30- year old bass guitar, a crap keyboard, my PC microphone, and some nice software (with the exception of the keyboard track on Feels Like, which we recorded in Sam's bedroom).
I have no double glazing, so listen closely - on almost all of them you can hear heavy traffic, and drug addicts shouting at each other.Have you performed in front of an audience?I love playing live - at the moment this is confined to church's and pub's (not at the same time). I look to expand this to form a band at some time.

I play solo, but for the CD's, all were made in my bedroom, using (at the most):
a crap acoustic guitar,
a 10 squire strat,a 30 year old fender jazz copy bass,
a mandolin inspired by a jolly Scotsman,
a crap keyboard from PC world,
one or two unatributed samples,
a PC microphone (and occasionally, when i get lucky, an SM58.Anything else?
