The Essence Bio
Commonly known to the world as, Essence; Born J.A.D El’ Esencio in the Bronx, New York City, this young Hip Hop artist's/entrepreneur’s life is one you could definitely write a book on.
Although influenced in the early 90's by those that sparked a new era in hip hop, his rebirth began at the age of 7 when his fathered was murdered on his 25th birthday while he lay sleeping in their Bronx apartment on 187th st. & Crotona ave. It would be 2 years later that he would learn; his father's killer was in fact, his own stepmother who was married to his dad at the time of his demise. From then on, his life was a myriad of hard lessons learned thru experiences growing up on the streets of N.Y.C. Incarcerated at the age of 18, the N.Y. State Penitentiaries were where the final fazes of his transformation took place. All these experiences in the life of a man called, "Essence", became the force that forged the unique character, versatility, style and charisma he possesses; Qualities that are unmatched and rarely seen in the industry today.
On New Years Eve of 06, at midnight on the dot, Essence started the Record Label and Recording studios, Es-Class Enterprises and released his first project called, The Essence of Life. The self titled double single has a his side and a hers side (His & Hers CD). From street anthems to lyrical assassinations on the his side, down to club hits and player styled serenades for the ladies or the ladies man. Also included as bonus free tracks, are the Mary J. Blige - Be without you remix & The Ne-Yo - So Sick remix; both hip hop and R&B blends featuring Essence. There is also a collabo track with A-Z and a remake of Throw Ya Hands Up (a featured song on the album) to a reggaeton mix, further demonstrating the gifted talents and versatility of this future star. Essence has performed and amazed spectators at venues in the N.Y. area such as, The Candy Lounge, The Chazz, Black Thorn, Kayes Café, Geishans and a few others. "His stage presence is almost overwhelming," raves Charley, owner of the Chazz lounge.
In short, Essence truly possesses the signature mark and sound to be classified as one of the greatest to ever do it.
