Based out of Austin, Texas we offer quality musicianship with a mix of original and contemporary praise and worship that will enhance any type of outreach endeavor.
The first question you might have is "what's with the name?" Yeah, it's always the first question asked:
Eph'pha-tha is a Greek translation of an Aramaic word spoken by Jesus as recorded in the Gospel of Mark Mark notes in his Gospel that Jesus healed a deaf-mute, and immediately the deaf-mute could hear and communicate with the Savior? We chose this action-word used by Jesus because it literally means, "Be opened" and it has an evangelizing focus:
and looking up to heaven, He sighed and saith unto him, "eph'pha-tha!" (that is, "Be opened!") - Mark 7:34
Our pronunciation is "e - fah - tha"
It is our mission and calling to share the teachings of the Holy Bible and the Gospel of Jesus Christ, thru our unique and original style of music. We believe God called us to this mission, and that His hand in this ministry is ever-present. Thru our obedience and humility, we believe God will use our ministry to open hearts to His Grace and Love.
Our musical style ranges from acoustic rockto pop rockto alterative rockto just straight forward rock blending original material with what has been called many times "eph'pha-tha-sized" versions of contemporary praise and worship material. We have recorded and released 4 CD projects: Listen (1996), To Be Opened (1998), Shower me (2000) and Fade (2003). In January 05, we released our first national project entitled "markseventhirtyfour". The first two singles from the CD Lay it down and Fill Me are slated for Rock Radio releases starting in January. Both of these tracks are being promoted by PURE TRACKING Radio Promotions.
