East Coast East Coast

The members of Early Next Year first met in college and started playing music in the summer of 2003. They got serious about it in the fall of '04. They stopped sucking in '05. After several member changes, months of loud practices, and countless late night shows, Wes Locher (vocals, guitar, moog), Doug McPherson (guitar), JoAnna Leitch (drums), and Bert Long (bass, vocals) recorded and independently released a seven song EP full of powerpop tunes entitled "Sarcasm is Your Friend."
The band has played over countless shows in the Central Florida area gaining fans and turning heads with their energetic live performance and by sharing the stage with acts such as Gym Class Heroes (Fueled By Ramen), The Progress (Negative Progression Records), Rory (111 Records), Damiera (Equal Vision Records), Time & Distance, and Big City Dreams.
Their debut release, Sarcasm is Your Friend, is a collection of seven songs that the band feels genuinely describes them. Each song has it's own feel, message, and tone and the band has mastered the concept of singing a sad song in a not so sad way. From the bouncy sunshine feeling of "East Coast" to the dark but bittersweet closer "Beautiful Distraction", the songs take form in much different ways, but are still presented in their own catchy powerpop style.

If there's a show, and we're invited... we're there... and we're playing.
