House

Alan Beddingfield, aka Durtybeats, voyage began in late 1995 as a house party regular. He began spinning breaks and trance, quickly moving on to house. He perfected his skills under the name DJ Steel until March of 1999 when he released his first mix tape "Spintropolis I" under the name Boytronic.

At that time he had gotten signed with Booty Basics and had started a management company called Ruffbass MGT. Two months after his mixtape release, he co-threw an official after party to the rave Evolution called "Big Bang". He continued spinning at house parties up until he met DJ Caram who got him some more noticeable gigs.

Then, the 19 year old DJ moved on to spinning intelligent breaks and garage house. He moved to Chicago for a year where he hung out with Paul Johnson and tagged regularly with DJ Rhema spinning. He bought most records with close, hands-on guidance from Bam Bam, Bad Boy Bill, Alex Peace and Breakdown B at SUPERDANCE records in Chicago.

Moving back to Pittsburgh at the age of 25, Durtybeats was gaining much recognition in the rave and club scene spinning primarily Booty House and Chicago house. It wasnt until 2008 that he made the transition to what he now spins and produces...Electro-House.

During this time he also, for a ten year span, threw his own Raves, his last being Sun Is Shining and 2 yrs of Club Envoke weekly EDM nights.

Putting DJing on hold for a while while touring as Mr. International, rapping and singing, he opened for Black Eyed Peas, Ludacris and Tech9 to mention a few. Having his albums sold in such locations as Best Buy and played in regular rotation on iHeartradio as well as KissFM stations. He always DJ'd events when asked, but was just working on his music performance.

Over the last 10yrs, starting in 2006 he started Exel Management, talent and casting agency where he gained IMDB credit as casting director on Abduction with Taylor Lautner. After casting Abduction, he moved back to Chicago for another year, and continued producing not only music but also music videos; working with artists like The Fray, 4Play (Pretty Ricky) and more.

Being a DJ has always been a love of his. It's best said by Durtybeats himself, "My only goal as a DJ is to rock the floor so hard that when the kids can't dance anymore they look at me, hear the music, and keep dancing anyway! So what does the future hold for Durtybeats? "It can only get better from here!".
