Band/artist history
Since their conception in the spring of 2001
from a small town in Western MI, DURT has been
quoted as being “The Best Thing to Hit West Michigan
since the Lumber Business” by fans and club owners.
Self described as Groove Nu-Metal; DURT is a
composite of powerful guitar work, infectious grooves and an infusion of unforgettable hooks with musicianship and a stage presence to match.
Founding members: Bassist Chris (Big Eazy) Bertram,
Drummer Tim Russell and Guitarist Rob Schultz,
which have been in several local bands together over the past decade, got together and after writing a few songs, knew the chemistry was right for making magic. It was now time to find a charismatic front man to match the trio’s distinctive groove. With several concluded auditions with no success, Big Eazy answered an ad from a local rock t-shirt shop for a Singer/Lyricist. Yancy auditioned and almost immediately the four of them knew the hunt was over. DURT was now complete!
In the past three years, DURT has gone on to play many successful local shows and they independently released their demos in 2001 and 2002. DURT now has their own TV show!
DURT ENTERTAINMENT TELEVISION (DET), on
Muskegon MI Comcast, MCC channel 9. DURT will be hitting the road soon and playing in a town near you!
