DRUM HEADS was a concept thought of years ago! Another drummer friend and I were talking about how drummers are always put in the back and often times not appreciated! We had an idea that we would UNITE all the drummers in the country and go on strike! Then, the only thing left would be FOLK MUSIC! People would become so hungry for rhythm and then the drummers would start THERE OWN BANDS and have control over the music for a change! Years later, I was teaching at Berklee College of Music in Boston (1973-1977) and was very interested in percussion and jazz composition. I had tremendous talent around me -- my students and those who were around the school. And so, DRUM HEADS began!
