I was born near Matlock in Derbyshire, UK. I was brought
up in a pub called The Horse Shoe and though I ain't
superstitious, the song "Born under a Bad Sign" springs
to mind. At the age of nine I was sent to boarding
School in Gt Crosby, Liverpool. Overall it was quite a
traumatic experience which is why I left of my own
accord aged sixteen. I left Matlock as a bass player in
a rock band formerly known as the Doughnut Band and
moved to Coventry. I played in top Coventry bands as
bassist in "Hot Snacks" and keyboards in "The Ring" not
forgetting of course Doc Mustard and the Cobalt Kids. I
won an award in the original lyric category of a
national music competition in 1990. I didn't want to end
my days in Coventry so in 1991 I moved to West Cornwall
where I now write and record my own songs.
