Enjoy a Super-Charged, High-Octane, Rock and Roll Cocktail!Band/artist history
Formed in late Spring of 2003, D.Martini was just looking to play a little guitar with some friends. One thing led to another (as they often do) and the next thing you knew, we were shaking up a Super-Charged, High-Octane Rock and Roll Cocktail.
We never measured it exactlybut here’s the basic recipe.
You take a guitar slinging, tune crooning veteran punk rocker that always wanted to be Elvis, Frankie, Deano, and Louis Prima all rolled into one. Add the hardest-hitting, Kiss crazed, formally trained drummer you can find. Throw ‘em into a blender with a cowboy bass player that rode straight outta the Wyoming sunset, pour in some alcohol and hit the puree button. Serve over icebecause this fucker is going to come out H-O-T.
If you mixed it rightyou should end up with D.Martini and the Highballs. What you will hear is an aggressive blend of just about every style of rock and roll you can imagine with just a twist of swanky lounge swing to make sure it goes down smooth.
Nothing fancy, nothing slickjust a three piece rock and roll band playing their hearts out and having one hell of a good time. Playing songs about love lost, love found, love that’s good, love gone bad, hot-rod cars, and of course that magic genie in the bottleour good friend and our enemy number one, alcohol.
If you’ve forgotten what it’s like to hear a raunchy, good-time, rock and roll band these guys just might have the tonic that will refresh your memory. You could call it rockabilly or rocking blues or maybe even neo-retro (whatever the hell that means), but we like to call it our ORIGINAL, HIGH-OCTANEHave you performed in front of an audience? We are playing live as much as possible in the Raleigh, NC area and abroad. We play both as an original band and as a 50's and 60's rock and roll cover band (hey, we like to get paid every once in a while). Also, D.Martini does solo shows from time to time.
Your musical influences
The Reverend Horton Heat, Brian Setzer, The Supersuckers, The Cramps, and of course ELVISWhat equipment do you use?
D.Martini plays only Epiphone archtop guitars outfitted with genuine Bigsby tremelos through a Crate VFX 5212 jacked into a Crate 4x12 cabinet (loaded with Celestian speakers) with nothing on the floor except a channel switcher and a Morely Little Aligator volume pedal.Anything else?
