DJ Status (Fraser Rushton) started his career as a Dj in 1991. Born in Montreal, Quebec, he presently resides in Moncton NB Canada.
His knowledge, experience and influences have led him to create a unique style, which he displays in all of his performances and music. He is very versatile in the sense that he is equally skilled as a turntablist, mixing hip-hop / reggae music and production of his own tracks.
After obtaining thorough battle and nightclub residency experience, he expanded his career to an international level, headlining several events in Mexico (Cozumel, Ciudad Del Carmen, Playa Del Carmen, Merida, Campeche, and Cancun). One such event being the Vestax/Shure dj contest held in Merida, Mexico 2002, alongside Dj Pepster (DMC Mexico champ).He then went on to perform at the 2003 East Coast Music Awards in Halifax NS.
He has shared the stage with artists Ludacris, Turnstylez Crew, Maestro Fresh Wes, Classified, J-Bru, DMC Mexico champ Dj Pepster, Dj Devious, The Rascalz, Shawn Desman, Snow, Skratch Bastid, Martin Parra, Superfly, Paul Taylor, VJ Mud, Ricky J, 3hree 6ix 5ive, Trobiz, Lamar, Dj IV, RS $mooth, Rocky Ninja, Spesh K.
He has done scratching for the albums of rapper Vic Bennett (Washington DC), J-Bru (Halifax, NS), L-Vision (Toronto, ON), Snakes (Moncton, NB), Indegenous (Toronto, ON), Streetfame Records (PE), Red Suga and Ehjay Sweet (Bathurst, NB), Criminal Records (PE).Contact
