Hip Hop General

My name is Shawn Udell Jackson, also known as DJ Nyke ( pronouced Nike ) or Blakjak da Assassin.
Have you performed in front of an audience?
I play locally ( Casper, WY ). I've opened for platinum selling artist here and in Michigan, where I grew up. I've opened shows for Mystikal and Pete Pablo and others, in addition to doing shows in Okinawa, Japan while I was stationed there. Nowadays though, I mostly do local shows with the group I'm in called SMK ( Suicide Mafia Kings ).
Your musical influences
I'm a product of East Coast hip-hop. Growing up in Flint, Michigan... that's like the center of the country, so we're pretty split on influences. But my major ones are the Wu-Tang Clan, Mobb Deep, Nas, Jay-Z, Biggie. And as far as old school, Slick Rick, Rakim, KRS-ONE, Public Enemy, Digable Planets, Das EFX, etc. Right now though, I'm really feeling the Harlem Diplomats ( Cam'ron, Juelz Santana, Jim Jones, JR Writer, etc. ). They have tight flow styles and there beat choices are/used to butta! Not to mention their entire sense of style. Fly!!! DIPSET Bitch! Holla at cha boy boy, Killa!
What equipment do you use?
Reason, Cool Edit Pro, HP Laptop & a Casio Keyboard
Anything else?
Shout out to Beatdown Productions here in Casper. Saw ya VIBE spot, Baby J. Keep doing your thing. Peace and love to my S.M.K. brothers. I know we're all in diferent states now, but let's everybody continue to mash out the music. Yogee Brown, do ya thing, ... Doc Suess, you comin' next... Kilo, Pac in the flesh.
