Everyone says this song sounds like it could be used in a movie chase scene, intro, or outro. I combine DnB, light turntable scratching, Jazz, and Industrial in this one. I think it came out good. Everyone who hears it either loves it or hates it.

Drum n Bass

I couldn't really choose what genre i am in, so i put down DnB, becuase my 2nd and 3rd cd's are shaping up to be mostly DnB/Jungle. My first one is more along the lines of Ambient/Breakbeat/Tribal/Trance. It's quite a variety, as i don't limit myself to listening or creating 1 genre of music. I like and listen to alot of different musical genres... People say that some of my stuff sounds like Eno, The Prodigy, Boards of Canada. I don't see that at all really, cept for maybe some Prodigy.. Others say i'm like the Chemical Brothers and Fatboy Slim... which totally is wrong... i don't think i sound like that at all... What do you think?
Band/artist history
I started in '94, mostly experimenting, in '96 i got into turntablism, and did some experimenting on that. In '98 i got serious with producing my own tracks and in '99-'01 i did some radio dj-ing in my college... had a mixshow where i did some dj mixes/turntablism live over the air.... also during that time i was producing my own tracks and promoting them... in '01 i started dj-ing/throwing my own shows/raves and working with other promoters and musicians to throw some raves... i didn't much care for club dj-ing... i loved playing outdoor fests though. i suppose if i was to be a live pa musician where i'd be playing my music i create live in a club i would like that and get more out of that then just mixing records... At first my focus was Ambient/Experimental/Trance music... My first cd, "Elysian Repose" is a variety of genres, mostly ambient/trance... but there is some breaks, some turntablism, and DnB on it.... My 2nd cd is half finished... This cd is definitely meant for the dancefloor, while my "Elysian Repose" is more relaxing, more meant for a chill room. The 2nd cd doesn't have a title yet, but this cd is when i was heavily influenced by Freaky Flow & MC Flipside... i saw them at a live in store show once, and they just blew my mind... just heaing these wicked sounds, scratching with DnB... the sounds were way sicc, wicked cool.... after seeing them live, i wanted to do something like them, but still maintain my own steez and not copy them you know... this is more what my 2nd cd is along the lines of... if you're into Dieselboy, Roni Size, Freaky Flow & MC Flipside, you'll definitely dig. Wait till i upload "Discovery (Not of this World)" up on here... 180 BPM DnB.. this is a dark eerie track... my local dj friend, DJ Illtration inspired me on this one... heavily influenced by him for this 2nd cd... I am beginning work on a 3rd cd... songs are still in the works... you ask, why don't i just put them on the 2nd one... well my answer, i have a theme going on the 2nd one, and to put what i am adding to the 3rd one to put on the 2nd one would sort of kill the theme... thus the 3rd cd... Also in the works are some side projects of live pa... possible cds for recording, right now i am solo... side projects will be along the lines of Trip Hop, Ambient, Eclectic... if you loved Massive Attack "100th Window", you'll like what i'm thinking up for these side projects... also if you dig bands like Banco De Gaia, SLANG, Steve Roach....
Have you performed in front of an audience?
I've played live before. I don't really care for raves or clubs, i love outdoor fests. The best moment was at this one outdoor fest.. I flyered 2400 flyers, 400 ppl came one day, 600 ppl came the next day. It was my first local show and it was really cool to see all these ppl in front me getting down to my music.
Your musical influences
I have a ton, but i'll list what i can remember: Opeth (surprisingly yes, this metal band influences me alot even though you wouldn't be able to tell by listening to my stuff), Oblivion (big influence), Dieselboy, Freaky Flow and Flipside (big influence), Paul Van Dyk, Bt, Paul Oakenfold, DJ A-Trak, Coldcut, Acceleradeck (excellent group, huge influence), DJ Jeff, Rahzel, Beat Junkies, The Allies, The X-ecutioners, JG, Lo Step, D:Fuse, the list goes on and on...
What equipment do you use?
My body, mind, and soul, and my old but trusty pc. 2 Stanton Str8-60's, 1 Numark DM1001X mixer, live sounds i record and then loop in my pc prog, Final Scratch, and the other one i am leaving secret.
