Progressive guy here. I've been playing on Fuityloops for about 7 years now off and on, and I just got a copy of Reason 3.0. Needless to say, I'm learning that one at the moment, but soon it'll be on like donkey kong. Beats flow through my head all day everyday... It seems as though when there is no music in my head, something goes wrong... haha. I've been spinning records now for about 7 years also. With the decks I pretty much play whatever sounds good. I cant' generally stay on one genre. I love to play house and I love adding tribal to it, and I love to break it down with some breaks from time to time... and maybe speed it up and throw in some d&b. It all depends on where the crowd wants to go and what sounds good together. My dream is to be able to spin and play my music through live p.a. I feel that that's the best part about making a track... tweaking it out... and to tweak it out in front of a live audience would make my day. heh... the day of all days
Have you performed in front of an audience?
i've never played MY own music live, but yes I have spun records before people before and still do. They're all really special moments though... I can honestly look back and remember the highlights of all the parties I played.
Your musical influences
John Digweed is number one for me. His taste in music and the dark corners of beats and how he tweaks them out to make you feel what he wants you to feel, grabbed me from the get go. Sasha is another up this ally. Quincy Jones had a big part of this too. His music, for you that didn't know, is rather progressive, but it is all mainly jazzy, hip-hop or r&b-ish. If you ever have the time... check out "Q's Jook Joint" and check out the track Birdland... i'm telling you, if you like progressive house, with soulfull blues singing and instuments... check it out. DJ Dan is deffinatley on the list. Sandra Collins, Richard Vission, Bad Boy Bill (of course). Irene, Dave Ralph, Notorious Big, 3-6 Mafia, 2-Pac, Bone Thugs, NIN, Tool... Deffinately Tool
What equipment do you use?
just a computer to make my beats for now... I'm building as we speak though.
