Diz Gibran, Los Angeles Hip-Hop at its flyest!
Band/artist history
Born and raised in Los Angeles, California; Diz Gibran stands amongst the next wave of wordsmiths coming out of the West. Confident and witty, observant and introspective, his music is a direct reflection of his upbringing and experiences. Diz has the rare ability to speak to people from all walks of life, from the common man and woman struggling day to day, to the executive in the corporate world. Diz walks the fine line between underground and mainstream, thus making his music difficult to box in or label. This is something that Diz views as both a blessing and a curse in the music industry. “People want you to be one thing or the other”, says Diz, “but to be human means that you are multi-dimensional and constantly changing.” Raised in the 1980’s, Diz ( born Khalil Kinsey) has a deep respect for the four elements of hip-hop culture and takes his craft seriously. His passion for hip-hop and music in general was apparent at a very early age, when he would perform and breakdance for his family and friends during the holidays. By the age of twelve, Diz had formed a rap group appropriately named “The Illkidz” and entered talent shows and showcases across the Los Angeles area. As a teenager he was a regular at open mic battles and made a name for himself as an mc to be respected. Diz Gibran has built a strong following via his mixtapes, collaborations and shows and recently shared the stage with the Legendary KRS-ONE, a huge honor and privilege. Diz alongside his Gutta Lane Professionalz and KPL Allstar crews are set to show the world that Los Angeles has a lot more to say than expected. Like he says on the intro to Spin City Vol. One, “ If you’re hearing this, then you’re hearing something special.”

I've been influenced by too many to name. I'm a lover of most genres of music.

A pen, a pad and my voice.
Anything else?
