Slow Food Slow Food

Various styles and things happening here...

The World Is Full Of Motherfers The World Is Full Of Motherf***ers

One of my favorites. Far from being "progressive" (there's odd-time sigs here and there, etc), if anything it's more like some sort of soundtrack (I don't know what movie it would suit though - noir?). It has some pretty climaxing moments.

Vomit Vomit

A laid-back (smooth jazz?) track. Ideal for relaxing after a hard day. Come relax to the sound of Vomit.

Smooth Jazz

Small Song Small Song

As you would expect, this is a short track.

The Function Of Music The Function Of Music

If I said that Bacharach and circus music have been partial influences here you wouldn't believe me, so that gives you an idea of how Dissatisfunction's influences are distorted. The end is pretty cinematic and reflective.

Experimental

Dissatisfunction - R.I.P. 1964-2009 Dissatisfunction is a one-person band, it exists solely to express, in musical form, whatever goes through its brain. There are no rules or ideas that it should be marketable, classifiable, or even listenable. It is not a commercial project in any possible sense. The music is mostly instrumental, with occasional vocal sounds/noises. It might be described as a blend of various styles/genres including soundtrack, jazz, pop, industrial, occasional noise/minimalist/atonal/circus music, etc.
Band/artist history
In terms of compositions, the Dissatisfunction project started in 1994 but at the time there was no name for it, or even the idea of making it public. It was nothing more or less than an outlet for a cathartic process. However, that has not changed at all; the only difference is that it was decided to give it a name and let other people be aware of it. There exists history before 1994 (back to the 70's in fact), but this is not relevant to the Dissatisfunction project. The idea of putting tracks on tape/CD and making them publicly available started in 1999 but this was followed quite soon by a period of disillusionment that lasted several years. Since Dissatisfunction only follows instinct, the project was resurrected only when it felt right to do so.
Have you performed in front of an audience?
Dissatisfunction is strictly a studio project and does not play live.
Your musical influences
It's difficult to say what Dissatisfunction's influences might be, not because there are none, but because whatever influences there are or have been, they become distorted in the process of influencing. Some of the names mentioned by listeners as influences/similar include The Residents/John Zorn/Frank Zappa, etc. That doesn't mean Dissatisfunction agrees with this. Perhaps Bacharach (in Dissatisfunction's more melodic and mellow moments) - but more in terms of attitude than style, like industrial, jazz and other genres.
