dispersion
dispersion has been and still is a forum for the two of us to create and play our own music, while ensuring we don't lose our playing skills! we play brutal, ag

well... seems we started being fairly active again... again...
new mix on the way, with a re-recording of previous material...
and also: a cover of meshuggah's song BLEED!!! coming real soon!
- rolf - guitars
- eirik - guitars, bass, programming, mixing, editing, mastering
- vocalist??? maybe soon...
this started out with us not being happy with our band like 4 years ago... we quit, and started writing on our own... basically we set out to do this continuous piece of music that captured many moods, while still being really heavy... back then we played 7-string guitars, and we still do... only now we tune down to low F, which is brutal... so there's a fair bitt of single string riffing in our music... mix that with mind-bending polymetrics and polyrhythmics, topped off with ambient leads, and you have our style! we are considering ordering custom 8-stringers pretty soon, so our songs will sound tighter...
now the two of us live in separate parts of the country, so writing and recording has been rather limited for the last two years, but we've managed to squeeze out a few songs, and we're getting better... now it seems we're gonna kick it up a notch, seeing as we're getting some new gear, which will allow the both of us to record in our separate locations.. so expect more songs from us in the time ahead!Band/artist history
dispersion is a music idea myself and a good friend got about 2 years ago. basically, we set out to create a continuous musical work, maybe 40-50 minutes in length, fusing metal, as we knew it, with our own insane ideas of complex rhythm in a surprisingly relaxed sound. that idea fell through when we all of a sudden found ourselves living in opposite ends of the country!!! therefore, we haven't been so active in the past 2 years. but it may also seem that my musical partner in crime is moving to trondheim in a while, so there's a chance of writing stuff together again... but for now, we only record in my holidays...
homogenous/heterogenous is now up!
new songs in the making! two or three to be recorded this easter...
we're making good progress on the new songs... arranging is almost done, only minor tweaks left...
new recording gear, meaning more songs for you!!! =DHave you performed in front of an audience?we don't play live regularly yet... we have done only one show the last 3 years, which was done with a massive backing track, and two guitars on stage... crowd seemed to like it tho... looking forward to more gigging, if we find some descent musicians who can cope with our style of playing...
Your musical influences
Major influences would be Meshuggah, Fredrik Thordendal's Special Defects, Allan Holdsworth, my man Acle and his project TesseracT (www.tesseractband.co.uk), his local band Fell Silent (www.fellsilent.co.uk), and SoundClickers Chimpspanner and Bulb...What equipment do you use?
- crappy 7-string guitars, soon to be replaced with custom 8-stringers
- a 2x31 eq
- 2 podxt live
- some (crappy) boss 16-track hd-recorder (almost obsolete)
- cubase sx 3
- drumkit from hell 2

Yeah I don't really like the sound of the rythm guitar either. Sounds something like a slap bass.
Hello
fantastic tracks you have here, and good full production also, my production or knoledge of time sigs is nowhere near the quality of this but please feel free to drop by and criticise my half-baked ideas or just say hello.
Good luck with your music, hope you get the recognition you deserve.
