We are (will be) Disco Sex Panda, a fusion of high energy riffs, the intelligent orchestration of both percussion and bass, the sultry sounds of the saxophone, and dark, sexy vocals!
Disco Sex Panda started when friends and band members Chris, Chase, and Mark kicked out the singer of their last band, and wanted to do something that would change the world musically. They teamed up with one of their closest friends, Monica, to create unique yet marketable rock songs. For awhile there were three additional members: Norm, as vocalist; Jessica, as keyboardist; and Shawn, as rhythm guitarist. During their stay with DSP many songs were written and the majority of the band's shows were performed. These three eventually parted ways with DSP citing incompatibility for one reason or another. Chase began singing at this point, with Mark as his backup vocalist. This proved to change the sound of DSP too much however, and so the band now seeks to complete its cast by adding a dedicated singer/front(wo)man and now a saxophonist.
A special thanks goes out to Norm, Jessica, and Shawn for their previous participation and creative input.
We play live at various venues in Lake, Orange, and Osceola counties. We had our best show at Fat Cat's Billiards in Mount Dora. People were dancing, gettin crazy, we were asked for an encore, and then to top it off the other bands thanked us for letting them play with us!
The band sounds something like a mix of Deftones, Tub Ring, Dog Fashion Disco, and Primus. Musical styles are alternative, experimental, pop, rock, metal, punk, and last but least jazz.
