DILEMA was born, raised, and played on the streets of South Carolina but moved down to the Atlanta area to make forward progress in his musical career. He began trying to make it as an artist and is now JUST TRYING TO MAKE IT. From the age of 15 on, DILEMA has had both a job and a hustle and this can be heard in listening to his music. He speculates on everything from hustlin' to make ends meet to getting a legal gig as a part of maturity to making it big while still being humble. His versatility shines and he makes his music by the mantra that is also the acronym for his name, "Delivering Ill Lectures Entrapping My Audience."
Self-described as "dirty south to the fullest," DILEMA has that rare talent of being able to combine, with precision, lyrics and beats. Though, he doesn't just write lyrics, he relives memories. With metaphorical lines depicting life on the streets like ...
"from OG's to beginners from summer through the winter//
niggas be posted on the block like a forward and center//
a lot of blocking trying to come through them lanes//
which will result in shootouts if you try and pull in they j's//
like a game of 21, it's every man for himself//
if you can't do nothing with the rock, your numbers gonna need help//
betta, get on a team so you can step up your game//
take some coaching advice, fall back and study the plays//
protect yo zone don't let nobody penetrate with they zones//
jump in my whole you gonna catch foul shots but no free throws ..."
as can be heard on "Huggin' the Block," to paying homage to the "Low Maintenance Girl" with a catchy hook and meaningful lyrics, DILEMA shows he has a wide range or ability.
DILEMA first starting gaining notice (and coined the popular phrase), with the track "Butherface (Her Whole Body's Banging But Her Face)." He also has a decent club buzz with his tracks "Seat Reclined" and "Single File" in local Atlanta clubs like The Poole Palace Palace (of D4L's "Laffy Taffy", and Dem Franchise boyz "Lean Wit It" fame), Club 714, and Club Crucial owned by T.I.. So if you're ever out at those places, make sure to keep the tracks in rotation and request them!
