The seeds of Dig For Fire were sown when a band was formed by Mark and Martin Saint. The original line-up of this band was Mark (Bass), Martin (Drums), and HeWhoHasNoBalls (Guitar). Liam Bettinson (guitar) joined the band after meeting Mark at a party where it is believed Mark was impressed by the quantity of Jelly consumed by the young Whippersnapper. Soon after the recruitment of Mr. Bettinson, HeWhoHasNoBalls left the band and was last seen in York with his band The Motherloads attempting to resurrect Glam Rock (We kid you not). Noticing that they were now down a guitarist they persuaded Ian Keane (Guitar) to join the band on the premises that he was Liams friend and he could be relied on for Biscuits. This incarnation of ther band soon got to work, writing several instrumental tracks including Scolari which appears on the SHE E.P. Soon they realised they needed a singer and this knight in shining armour came from within when Bassist Mark took on Vocal duties. However knowing that a Bass/Vocals combination is not cool (eg. Sting) they now needed a Bass player. Their search seemed to be going nowhere until February 2003 when Andrew Dalkin (Bass) was introduced to the band by Ian. He soon joined the Rock quest and despite the fact that before joining Dig For Fire he had only been playing Bass for a week, he was soon rocking like a pro. So therefore, had it not been for the party where Mark and Liam met, Ian would not have joined the band and consequently Andy wouldn't have either! Thank you for the party whoever hosted it! (Leah Jameson, we salute you!)Despite rigourous lazing about and rife can't be arsedness, Dig For Fire soon morphed into the well oiled rock machine that you see before you! Since that incubation period DFF have gone on two release 3 EPs and gig relentlessly wherever they were offered shows

Well, standard rock band really, 2 guitarists with various pedal...multiboard and Wah Wah to mention two, bassist, drummer and vocalist (a mic!) we are very fond of the cow bell on the kit too, just for comedy value, occasionaly a tamborine is added for flavour along with various other percussion instruments
