Dead Letter Diaries is an Indie Rock band from Orange County, CA and is 15-16 years old. The band started when Brandon (Vocals, Guitar) and Cameron (Guitar) met and began writing songs. Lacking a drummer and a bassist, it ended up being just Cameron and Brandon playing together and writing acoustic songs. That's when they both came up with the name Dead Letter Diaries. The name Dead Letter Diaries is all the memories, thoughts, and things that used to matter but were forgotten with time.
In high school Brandon met Paul (Drums) and after playing together a few times, they knew they found the right people. Now Dead Letter Diaries was almost a complete band, just in need of a bass player. They did have one person in mind for bass, Jason Frenzel. But since they didn’t want to rush anything they practiced with Jason for several weeks before making the decision of permanently adding him to the band.
The music of Dead Letter Diaries has been compared to the sounds of bands like The Early November, Senses Fail, Thrice, and Dashboard Confessional. The style is a blend of many genres all put together. With various songs ranging from hard choruses to soft acoustic endings Dead Letter Diaries puts themselves in their very own category. "We don't really try to sound like whatever is popular or like any certain bands, we just write music and see what comes out of it."
Although Dead Letter Diaries is relatively new, the band has made great progress in their first 6 months and is scheduled to release an EP in May. With a fast-growing fan base and many more shows to be played, no one knows what to expect.Have you performed in front of an audience?Yes.
