Your musical influences
I would have to say that it's the songs, rather than the artists, that have always been my major influences, regardless of the era a particular song may have come from. As far as the songwriters who have had the most influential songs: Lennon and McCartney(not necessarily in that order), Neil Diamond, Cat Stevens, Dolly Parton, Randy Newman, Neil Diamond, Don Henley, Brian Setzer, and Shania Twain all top the list. I would have to put Cole Porter, Irving Berlin, The Gershwins, Hank Williams, and Kris Kristoffersen somewhere on my list of influences as well.
What equipment do you use?
Primarily accoustic guitar, keyboards, and vox. I record guitar and vox in the studio, and all the keyboard work I do at home. Mixing/mastering are performed in the studio, of course.
Anything else?
Soundclick is an exciting forum for indies. I love nothing better than discovering new music from artists who are as good (or better) than the ones in the limelight. What a great time to be alive!!!!!
